Mephisto's Shop is a participatory performance that stems from the need to investigate the problem of surveillance and control that is constantly carried on through the collection of data by large companies such as Facebook, Google, Amazon or Apple. These companies collect an enormous amount of data on a daily basis and they use this huge amount of information to reorganise society according to their needs, in an extreme version of capitalism. To confront this problem, I use the story of Faust. The devil Mephistopheles deceives Faust, bartering his soul in exchange for promises: eternal life, power, Margaret's love, wealth and knowledge.
