Eirik Stubø

Eirik Stubø had been the Artistic Director at the Rogaland Theatre when he was hired as the National Theatre’s new Artistic Director.

Stubø was a director and had many new ideas. Stubø founded the Festival of Contemporary Drama (Samtidsfestivalen), promoting new Norwegian drama and running every two years, alternating with the International Ibsen Festival. The Festival of Contemporary Drama lasted while Stubø was the Artistic Director, until 2009, and was replaced by the International Contemporary Stage Programme (ICON).
